Impact. Legacy. Partnerships.

CSSC builds on the work begun with the College of Charleston’s affiliation with over 40 other universities in the Universities Studying Slavery (USS) consortium. The College's membership in the consortium drives our university to be more intentional in disseminating research and in collaborations within and beyond the institution.

Additionally, CSSC has several affilations and partnerships. Within the College, the center works closely with Critical Conversations and DiversityEDU. As a university, we have a responsibility to “advance our commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion” and have outlined numerous paths to achieve this endeavor in our new Strategic PlanUSS logo
